Pia Wurtzbach is Miss Universe 2015

I and the whole family just tuned in around 930 in the morning and what surprises us was that below the TV monitor crawling that Miss Philippines made it to the final 10.
Indeed, that announcement was an honor for all of us. But of course, let's all be honest with it, we want to bring home the crown.
And I believe that's every countries dream when they joined Miss Universe.
But as the program progresses, another good news came in Pia Wurtzbach, became a part of Final 5 and all the way to Final 3.
The Miss Universe 2015 pageant, obviously changed the way how the final question and answer done. Because at this time, it was the host holding and reading the candidates the question. Far from previous pageants where the contestants picked a judge, the judge asked question and they will answer.
The final question was a hard and somehow an easy one..."Why should you be the next Miss Universe?"
This was now thrown to three remaining candidates Ms. USA, Ms. Colombia and Ms. Philippines.
Then, came the announcement of the title.
I actually prepared my lists and typed something on Twitter just before the announcement was made.
Of course, Ms. Philippines was my Miss Universe and 1st was Ms. USA, and Ms. Colombia.
But it was totally reshuffled...2nd Runner up was Ms. USA and 1st was Philippines and the title was given to Miss. Colombia.
But, it seems that people are really holding back on something. Because on TV you'll see that most of them was suppressing their feelings.
And, after a few minutes, came another shocking announcement...Miss. Universe 2015 is Miss Philippines..." Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach!"
At home we were all rejoicing. Because it was such a beautiful gift this Christmas especially to all of us who waits for the crown to be finally vested upon our country's  representative.
The host apologizes on National TV for his mistake and that immediately showed on the viewers the envelope Pia Wurtzbach's name was printed.
The story of success of Wurtzbach is truly an inspirational one, because it took 4 long decades to win the title back again.
After our very first success beauty pageant story with Gloria Diaz and years after Margie Moran comes a triumph story of Pia Wurtzbach.
Again, congratulations for bringing the honor back in our country. We're so PROUD of YOU!

Christmas is in the air

When I was a kid, What I'm looking forward is the coming of Christmas.
Of course, like any other kids out there, I'm excited to wear my "Pamasko," thus I am referring here
to a new clothes I will wear when the especial occasion unfolds.
And, the gifts I will get from all my Godmother (Ninang) and Godfather (Ninong), whom I have never seen for the entire year.
Plus, there was an abundance of my favorite different Filipino dishes cooked by my Mom that I am again, super excited to savor.
That exact emotion is what I actually want my kids to experience.
I'm having a quite busy schedule brought about by work. But I am trying my very best not to omit especial occasions like Christmas.
Like now, days from now month of November will end.
I wanted to put up a Christmas decorations so that my Kids will see it and eventually developed a habit out of it...every year.
Actually my Eldest Althea, who's now 6 is one of the many kids I know excited about Christmas.
Last year, I remember, She was the one pushing me and her Mom to bring out our Christmas Tree and decorate it.
She's happy to see the end result, where the Tree is lighted with Christmas lights.
And especially now, when you go out...Christmas decorations are everywhere and selected streets, most Malls were lighted with Christmas lights.
And, "Tiange," or items that can be purchased are now becoming so rampant. The season actually dictates that even midnight, you can do your shopping.
Also observed now, are some rice cakes, (bibingka), puto-bumbong, puto-sulo't etc...are now being sold near or outside every churches in the City.
And what adds more excitement to the holiday season is the giving of corporate companies, "Employees 13th month pay!"
But above all the observations that we see as the most celebrated occasion of the year unfolds, we must not forget the true meaning of it...the child was born, his name is Jesus.
May we all have a happy celebration of Christmas!

An APEC to REMEMBER

December last year, when we heard about Philippines' hosting APEC.
And, I believe from that moment, our government started planning everything.

After a few months of waiting and long preparations...comes, APEC week November 16 to 20.
Classes were suspended and some major roads especially that of very near the Philippine International Convention Center, PICC were temporarily closed for the public.

No wonder, that we have to do this because there were 21 leaders from different countries who made visit and participated in this much awaited event.
Billions of pesos were spent, and security from different venues were strictly imposed.

Yes it was indeed a success for all of us.

For one, we were able to prove to them that we know how to handle event and that all APEC leaders are all safe visiting Philippines and from their departure as well. At least, in such away we were able to prove that as far as "SECURITY," is concern we are ready and that our country can ensure that. And this is more than one good Filipino traits that we can be proud of aside from being "hospitable."

Secondly, its a good gesture to invest a good relationship with participating countries to strengthen ties and promote camaraderie.

Well, there are so many issues in connection after the event took place.
Like, many of our fellow Filipinos suffered from too much exercise due too long time spent from walking.
At one point, if some roads were closed, we are looking for alternative transportation provided by the government to the mass.
Thus, we are also affected of last minute changes as to routes that are surprisingly closed and even a mass transit has to temporarily stopped like that of MRT because APEC delegates are passing through EDSA.
And that most employees especially that of private ones, should consider allotting extra-time going to work for them not be late.

But now that APEC is over, everything will now surely back to normal.
Let us just wait for the many benefits this meeting brought to the country.

Happy Christening Mikayla!

About six months ago, I and my wife were very lucky to have given the chance to have a child again.
Lucky because, the gap was almost 7 years.

Just this Saturday, November 7, 2015, together with our families, relatives, and close friends..."Mikayla Ysabelle," was baptized.

We planned for a small gathering of about 50 people.
While some were not around because of their schedules...some of them made it.

As parents, were very very happy with the success of the event.
AND, we wanted to thank all of our visitors who celebrated with us.
AND, most of all we would like to thank the Lord God for using several people as instruments
just to make it possible.

The next big thing is the celebration of my eldest 7th birthday.
And I'm sure that it's going to be a one happy gathering as well!

How you look today...tell us your mood?

Feeling changes...sometimes your "HAPPY," but sometimes your "SAD."
But sometimes some people say that how you look today...reflects what you feel inside.
Is this TRUE?

I spoke to someone a while ago, and she revealed a secret about what she feels today contrast how she dress today.

She said when she wears clothes and she looks good, she's unhappy inside.
At first, I couldn't believe.
For, the way I look at it was the exact opposite.
But she explains that, it was just her way to camouflage the sorrow she feels inside.

But I looked, at it the other way around.
Because I normally groomed myself when I am HAPPY.
Because really, I do believe that whatever you feels inside showed from the outside.
I mean, I couldn't get the point where in when you dress well...that's the time you're unwell.

But giving that person the benefit of the doubt...I just simply listen and respect her personal opinion.

Well, we are all different being and sometimes we do have other interpretations about so many different things.

But for me, more than what you feel inside...grooming one's self is a must.

HAPPY ON 36th!

They say that a person's special day comes once a year, so, one must exert effort to commemorate it.
A lot of reasons why, but number one is you should be thankful that you are alive and healthy and that God continue to shower you blessings all through-out the year.
I choose again to have a humble celebration with my family, for we're looking forward for a baptismal of my youngest, happening also this month.
As I grow older another year, again I don't mind.
I have so many learning this year, mostly work and family related matters.
I am planning to make a bigger step this year, primarily on my career.
This is actually brought about by the coming of additional member of the family.
New member, demands new adjustment particularly in handling monthly budget.
I wanted to wish and hope to achieved career growth before the year ends and in the coming of the 2016.
So that in effect, there'll be less or zero household budget deficiency.
But all my wishes is actually directed to the well-being of my family.

A life without DATA

It all began when my cellular phone switched off. I looked for ways how to fix it but everything I did has no effect.
It happened about a year ago, same problem but after a few hours...it worked again.
But the current situation is very far from last year...after my visit to a repair shop, they say that the "Motherboard," has a problem.
Analyzing its diagnosis, it goes without saying that everything on it were erased.
No single photo, not even a text, and worst is I haven't saved any numbers from my current contacts.
I'm thinking that the phone is just enough to save everything.
I never thought of having a back-up, like saving them on a memory card.
But I am lucky to send all important photos directly through my email.

The importance of DATA

I have a 30 month contract with SMART. And a month before it finally ends the phone bugged down.
I actually think of applying right away for my retention. I think I communicated with them thrice.
There was even a time that one agent from Smart called me and offered me an Android phone.
They made mentioned of "Samsung A-7," and "Xiaomi Mi4i."
Via phone I was enlightened of its features, but I believe I made the right decision to say and said..."I still have to check on its features and then I will decide soon."
Since, I declined their Android offers, the downside of it...now, I have to wait for its availability.
Now, its like listening on a tape recorder that plays over and over again..."The phone is not available yet."

But the thing is how many subscribers a Smart has?  And do they really assess each subscriber who would want to avail RETENTION?
If the answer is YES, then why they lack supplies?
You see, this was how "POLITICAL ECONOMY," exists.
When the "SERVICE PROVIDER," actually mean "BUSINESS!"

If I will be availing retention, that means I will have the same monthly charges.
Where in, I believe they would have wanted a single subscriber like ME to "UPGRADE," my services.
Meaning, get the latest "ANDROID PHONE," and pay for extra "CHARGES."

They can't be (Service Providers) provide subscribers a better service, a new phone, without taking extra-money from your monthly subscriptions.
Sad to say, but this is the "TRUTH and nothing but TRUTH."

Limited DATA

Most of the service providers now recently end giving the access of "UNLIMITED DATA," for "POST PAID," users.
Literally mean now that, every subscribers has to slow down and monitor checking every "SOCIAL MEDIA SITES," they wanted to visit.
I am now looking at it as "DEPRIVATION," of citizen's right to "FREEDOM OF SPEECH, and of "FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION."
Excuse me service providers, "YOU CAN'T EVEN FIX YOUR TURTLE NET CONNECTION. AND NOW YOU WANTED TO REMOVE UNLIMITED DATA ACCESS?!"
Your getting too much from millions of subscribers and yet you can't even provide us a fast "INTERNET CONNECTION."

Better review the services you are providing with us before you demand for extra charges and resolved immediately every single request of subscribers.

And what raises my eyebrows higher than the tallest building in the world is that your giving away "gadgets for FREE," in some Universities. HELLO, they're not even your subscribers!
This was the advertisement,  I have seen in one of my recent visit in your store using "Jasmine Curtis," as your ambassador.

I mean I can associate and link this to the reason why you lack supplies of gadgets.
And this was according to your agent, I spoke with and branches of your store I recently made a visit.

Gadgets Logic

An android phone with the best features is useless without better DATA, and vice-versa.
AND, without subscribers patronizing the services your providing with us...your nothing.
So, better give us the SATISFACTION we're looking for or you'll end up losing all of us!

Surviving the day without Cellphone

A throwback photo of my Samsung Galaxy S-4 when it was still very new
May 16, 2013
You know me, I can't last a day without looking at my messages, sending texts, checking emails, taking selfies for Instagram but today everything happens like I never expect it to be.

Well, I'm thinking that all throughout the day in the absence of my CP...I'm naked.
Naked because, I'm not equip now. It's like a soldier in a battlefield without any weapons.

I have a theory that its not working because, I became too abusive using it to the max, until it became empty battery. And this became a practice, over and over again.

One friend, had told me that a "smart phone," should not be in any manner put into a battery drain level.

But I am looking at the big possibility that, I am using it for almost three long years now.
As a matter of fact, I have a contract for 30 months that's going to end on the 16th of November, this year.

A week ago, I can't help but think that I let go an offer from my service provider regarding a "free," smart phone,  I'm supposed to have and delivered straight through where I live.

But don't worry, I made a call earlier and they promised to call me back for my cellphone "retention."

Right now, I need to find ways, how I can have my CP temporarily fixed, so that I can return to my usual routine and habit. And also, to finalize everything that I now agree to have the retention and get the new phone.

Human Trafficking

Althea Garabot in grade school uniform

Most of the movies I have seen and also some teleserye's has a story about Human Trafficking.
Human Trafficking simply implies forced labor and sexual slavery.

Never had any personal experience about it, but recently feared that what if my daughter will be a victim of it.

I normally send my eldest Althea to school in the morning but asked someone to fetch her in the afternoon.
This is because by the time her class ends, that also a signal for me to go to work.

At noon, I and my wife decided to give the responsibility of fetching her through a trusted tricycle driver from the neighborhood.
My wife just labored from our second baby about 5 months ago, and it goes without saying that much of her time would be devoted on taking good care of our youngest.
Well, we can ask my Mom to babysit, but since we never wanted to bother her, with her condition which still in the process of recovering after suffering from a mild stroke just last January, we do not see that as a better option.

Earlier, while my wife and I were on our way to one destination, we have rode on my daughter's tricycle driver.
The tricycle driver, started to tell us a story about a certain old guy pretending's to be Althea's family and that would have wanted to fetch her from school.
We were told that this narration were coming from my daughter's school security guard.
Of course, were parents and our main concern always is our child's welfare.

I verified this information from Althea's school security guard. And just found out that the driver just misinterpreted his narration. And that he (the security guard) was referring to another student who happened to be fetching another student.

It was actually a big relief for me to know that my daughter is now safe from a possible danger of "Human Trafficking."
But before leaving the house for work this afternoon, I even asked my Father if he made a visit on my daughter's school yesterday. But he said with conviction that he wasn't there and never made an attempt.

My wife just told me through text that because my father became so worried about the situation, he asked my brother to check and had fetched my daughter.

Well, at home we orient our daughter about a specific scenario like this, and told her that in the absence of her fetcher, she should stay inside her school. And, that do not trust anyone especially strangers.

I think I will just provide her a cellphone, so that in the case of her fetcher's absence, Althea could easily send a message to me or on her mom at home.
Its always better be safe than sorry.

A Photo Opportunity with Weekend Updates and Network News Weekend staff with Sir Ferdie
June 13, 2015 (SAT), Pilot Episode
CNN Philippines

For an almost 4 year employee of former Talk TV, Solar News Channel, 9TV, and now CNN Philippines, no employee in the company do not recognize Sir Ferdie.

Sir Ferdie is known to be one of the pillars of the company.
The vision that we have before and the dream that we wanted to achieve now is actually first visualized by him.

Somehow Sir Ferdie is strict but he will allow you to learn from your experience.
Sir. Ferdie always reminds us to follow broadcasting rules but gave us liberty by challenging us to be creative and competitive.

At times, you will see him mad about some on-air discrepancies, but at the end of the day, you will realize that all of this is not just for the Network's sake but also for your growth as a person in your chosen career.

I remember, Sir Ferdie used to say..."Be mindful of small things."
Emphasizing on its value on our everyday work.

Now, that he's finally moving for a better opportunity...its like losing a trusted friend that never fails to always give his best advice on every tough and bad day.
We will surely miss you Sir.

And we promise to keep and apply everything you taught us.
'Til we work again Sir Ferdie!

Mini Me 2015 Most Look-alike...Grand Winner: Althea's story of success

Althea with faculty members accepting trophy for the "Grand Winner of 2015 Mini Me Look-alike," Contest

Althea accepting her first award for..."My Mini Me 2015 Most Look-alike."

A split picture of Althea's Teacher who happens to have resemblance with her

Finally, a personal meet-up of Althea with Teacher Duenas

Yes, we have received so much blessings today.
My eldest Althea, were one of the finalists for a "Mini ME Look-alike," contest in their school.
This was school's tribute as they commemorate this particular month to honor "teacher's contribution as molders of young minds in our society.

This "Mini Me Look-alike," contest literally translates a certain student has a resemblance to a teacher he/she is copying.
It includes the showing of participants on this category a talent a student posses.
They'll be also judge on the ramp that they have to do.
But the biggest part of the criteria is if a student is really somehow close to a teacher he/she's imitating.

Since it involves too many students from the secondary level, the showing of their talent and their ramp on-stage were done in two different dates.

About a week ago, Althea and the rest of her classmates showed their unique talents, some dances, while we let her showed her talent in singing a popular song from the movie..."Annie,"..."Tomorrow."

When it comes to dedication, Althea really gave her hundred and one percent.
At times, I really couldn't practice with her due to my work schedule.
But she always find ways how to practiced by herself...most of the times in acapella.

I have seen Althea has a tough times in getting a "timing," that is one disadvantage she actually got from rehearsing without music.
And also, the minus one especially its lyrics was far more different from what has been shown in the movie. And that was another adjustment on her part.

But on the day of the showing of her talent, her voice was powerful and her diction was so clear.
And a week after, particularly this day, she successfully ramp on a stage provided by the school along with her classmates and schoolmates and even rendered a special dance number.

Then came awarding ceremonies. I and my wife are not "hypocrites," of course we expect Althea to win.
But really, the competition is very tight. Most candidates would have wanted to win also...that they also gave their best.
They were awards given such as "Best in Talent," and "Best in Modeling," to name a few but none of these were given to Althea.
Honestly speaking, we're about to lose hope until Althea's name were called for a specific award and
that is the "My Mini ME 2015 Most look-alike award.

And the whole family were rejoicing. So we went up on stage for the photo opportunity with some faculty members and of course the "teacher," Althea, has a close resemblance.

We were overjoyed with that award...but wait there's more my daughter's name got called again and this time as "Grand Winner of My Mini Me 2015 Look-alike!"

We asked Althea to join to develop her skills in showing her talents and showing it without any hesitations by learning how to become confident on-stage.

As her parent, we see how important this in building her personality and discovering also what else she can do.

Parents and guardians played a vital role in bringing out the innate talent in your child and one great bonus to this is when she learns new things as she continue her journey on her chosen field.

We are still overjoyed with your success Althea. And we know that there's still more that you can achieve. Just continue to believe in your talent and always remember that we are here your Mom and Dad...your number one fan giving you a full support.

Journey to fitness

Most of us are busy with a lot of things, career, family, and other extra-curricular activities in our everyday life.
But are all above mentioned are enough reason for you to forget about taking good care of your health?

The same question, I asked myself over and over again.
The reason why, I gained, I lack energy, and most of the time felt the feeling of over fatigue.

Several times, I attempted on working out but just like many, I ended up going back to my old bad habit...getting lazy to hit the gym or exercise at home.

But again, realization came after about several months this year.
I said, I must do something to win this battle. And I should do it now.

So one morning, I wake up early and tried jogging.
The first week was really hard because there was really a struggle in convincing myself to go-up early every other day.
But after the first week, it became month and now several months I'm still into fitness.
I feel now that eventually the normal routine became a habit.

Now, I am religiously going to gym every other day.
And I am really taking my work out seriously with my gym instructor.

Up to now, its still a battle that I have to win, but one thing is precise, I am not giving up on this.
I just keep on telling myself that..."Consistency is the key to result."

About a month from now, I promise to myself that I will be seeing great results on my body.
Honestly speaking, I'm seeing great changes now.
Just before my birth month unfolds, that will be my gift to myself...
a gift of being fit and healthy inside and out.

'Till we work again...Sir. Jing!

"There's always a good "hello," when you meet someone.
But the exact opposite of it, which is saying "goodbye," is what we all never wanted to do."

Like today, a very good boss is saying farewell to all of us.
I think, everyone will agree on me if I say we're saying goodbye
to the "Pillar," of the station where I am currently working right now...CNN Philippines.

Thus, I am referring to the great...Sir. Jing Magsaysay, our Senior Vice President for News and Current Affairs who just resigned from his post effective today.

How do I know Sir. Jing?
For one, he's an experienced boss in the business of journalism.
No wonder, for Sir. Jing has been in the Media world for a very long time.
The reason why, everybody respects him and honor his every decision.

Secondly, he's very approachable.
To all the boss, I worked with he's one of kind.
Sir. Jing never refuses to talk to anyone whether you're a Production Assistant or just an ordinary people.
And when you reach out to him, you will feel enlightened after.
He never raises his voice.
I never even seen him getting mad, he's very graceful and always never fails to give better solution even in a very tight situation.

And lastly, more than Sir. Jing thinks of himself...he'll always think of his people.
In short a very good leader.
I am one those very lucky to say that I have worked with Sir. Jing.
Just wanted to say thank you for being a great boss, a brother, and somehow a good friend to all of us.
We wish you Sir. Jing, all the happiness in the world.
And may God continue to shower you with his blessings, so that you'll continue to be a good blessing to others.
'Till we work again Sir. Jing!

Goodbye old TURNSTILE and HELLO to...Beep Card!

We believe in the saying that..."the only permanent thing in this world is change."
One great example to that is the mass transportation like that of MRT3, who's now getting ready for the use of  the Tap and Go,.."Beep Card," or in other neighboring country like Japan, they call it "OCTOPUS CARD," which will took effect on the 3rd of October 2015.
This is very much different for this one is "UNIFIED." Meaning an access not only limited to MRT3 but also to the two trains serving commuters like that of LRT1 and LRT2.
The perfect advantage, I see here is the zero inconvenience on the part of commuters who normally getting different magnetic cards for every trains.
Now, not most of the commuters are happy about this. Some would always put a debate on why focus on small things where in the attention should address on how to improve the mass transport like that of MRT3 by adding more trains to serve public commuters better.
Currently, we lack trains due to some technical problems brought about by daily whooping numbers of passengers using it as their means of transportation.

Just imagine, according to the available data provided by DOTC, LRT lines carry about 579,00 passengers each day, while MRT3 has 650, 000, which is above its maximum capacity of 350, 000 passengers. While, PNR serves some 100, 000 passengers daily.

The MRT3 prototype arrived at the MRT3 depot last September 8, 2015, and Presidential aspirant Senator Grace Poe, and Senator Nancy Binay made an inspection that day.
The Department of Trade and Commerce, DOTC, as posted on their website announced that the dynamic testing of the Prototype will initiate on November, while starting 2016 there will be a monthly arrival of its prototype.

See link below...
http://www.dotc.gov.ph/index.php/2014-09-02-05-01-41/2014-09-03-06-43-32/134-mrt-3-prototype-on-schedule-for-mid-august-arrival

Going back, some commuters where suggesting that only if a BEEP CARD is reloadable, you can do this at any convenience store, to lessen inconvenience to avoid long-lines just to get one.
For now, we'll say goodbye to "BONUS RIDES," from the old stored value card, commuters can still use the remaining balance left on his/her card, now before exiting...payment is a must.

Senior Citizens and Persons with Disabilities can apply for Special Beep Cards starting September 28, 2015 to avail a 20-percent fare discount.

And really for now, we have to wait for the coming of new MRT3 trains to improved its services.
But I am looking forward for a more safer loading of passengers by the coming of  "TRAIN PLATFORM SCREEN DOORS," that opens as soon as the trains arrived.
And that will immediately, define CHANGE which is very permanent thing happening in every part of the world.

For now, literally we have to wait for the MRT3 to fixed their defective escalators and elevators, as well as some air-con failures and still expect rampant train technical related problems.

Hanggang sa muli...kaibigang Boni!

Bonnie Andrew "Boni" Cruz

Nakilala ko si Bonnie Andrew Cruz, a.k.a. "Boni," when I was in UE during my College days.
One of the creative and intelligent people I know.

Maliit lang kasi ang bilang nung A.B. Comm. Arts nun sa UE kaya sigurado magkakakilala kaming lahat.
Ang alam ko kay Boni, he's always a leader.
Kapag may class presentation for sure siya ang magiging leader.

I remember, we formed a group, Christmas season nun siya yung gumawa ng tula ng ipe-present ng grupo. Sabayang bigkas siya, so siya yung coach namin how to deliver every words.
Something like this yung content nung tula...
Magulong paligid o anong hirap mula roon. "

Isa pang memory, I had with Bonnie was when we were in the field kasama naman si Roman Cruz noon, kumakanta kami ng OST ng "Ang TV."'

And then, a few years after nung natapos ko na yung studies ko sa UE Caloocan, reality check ang hirap pala talagang humanap ng work.

And then, later on, even pati yung tinitirhan nilang maliit na bahay, inoffer niya pa sa akin na pwede rin naming tulugan kung hindi na kami makauwi.
That's how Bonnie care and love a friend.

On Facebook proposed DISLIKE button

To most of us who has a social media account particularly the famous Facebook, sharing our daily activities is something that became a part of our being and eventually we develop a habit out of it.

We upload photos and share our personal status to connect with families, loved-ones, relatives and to all of our FB friends and even to the public if we want.

Currently, we are hearing feedback from people through a comment reply or by just simply clicking the “LIKE, ” button.

But do you think, it’s possible that there will be another button to specifically express what we feel?

Believe it or not, the founder Mark Zuckerberg will be introducing a “DISLIKE,” button in facebook.
But this proposed idea is now actually getting reactions from most users. Some were against it because this will only add to the growing numbers of social media users that are being bullied on cyberspace.
But in some scenarios like one of your FB friend posted one member of a family who died in a car accident, a LIKE button is not enough.
In some instances, by clicking a “LIKE,” button somehow it says that you are happy about the accident.
But for most users like me, I believe that there are other options to directly show your sympathy to a friend by leaving a comment instead of clicking the LIKE button.

Well, FB says its just temporary, and that everything will depend on users responses if they will feel the need of it.
But like any other social media sites introducing changes as to its content is something very permanent.

Bakuna iwas sakit at impeksyon

What a trip

A pretty sunny Tuesday in the morning and afternoon, when
eventually comes the rain around 6 in the evening.
And you know what's next after that, comes stranded passengers
because of traffic jams.
Some commuters, choose to wait at their respective
office for an hour or two. A simple strategy to avoid gridlock.
Luckily, my work ends far from the rush hour. But there was a big surprise
that I didn't know awaits me.
I'm coming from Shaw Boulevard, one of the six identified
chokepoints in Edsa.
A lot of people I still see struggling to get their means
just to go home.
Luckily, an MRT station was situated on my whereabouts.
And, looking at Edsa commuting via Bus is not a win win solution.
The MRT just gave me a smooth access until North.
But at the time, I was thinking I am okay...no I'm not.
At this time, I don't see any traffic constable manning Edsa.
The reason why streets were jampacks with commuters, using every
strategy they have just to be home.
I tried but it's not really working for me. After
my drop off at the MRT North Avenue, I willingly walk
until Munoz.
I remember, I had a biscuits and that helps me a lot, by not worrying how much walk
I'm going to take.
Never did I know, that there was so much road works done by DPWH in the stretch of Munoz.
Every step I'm taking has a precautionary measure. Because if I happen to slip...for sure I will
end up in a big hole.
From 10 in the evening, I remember I started walking. Only it was around 10:25
with God's grace, I was able to be with one of the Bus going to Letre.
I just told myself, I'm too lucky its not raining while I'm walking.
And it started to pour again, while we were approaching MCU.
Honestly speaking, expect a struggle in commuting when it rains.
Being the responsible me, I always bring umbrella with me.
But thank God, because my trip struggle ends at around 11 on the evening
when I reach my end destination.
One more ride, and I'll be home sweet home!

The Highway Patrol Group

We've all been became so paranoid, worried about terrible traffic jams about two weeks ago.
And because of that, we were able to call groups of people and later on government attentions to if not resolve it...at least, lessen the Edsa gridlock.
And the whole day today, 17th of September, news about the "Highway Patrol Group, HPG" are almost everywhere.
A total number of 150 HPG personnel have been deployed to six major chokepoints on EDSA -Shaw Boulevard, Taft Avenue, Guadalupe, Ortigas, Cubao and Balintawak.
But opinions of people will always be transparent as black and white.
Some  are happy about it, while some look at it as solution that never work at all.
But it isn't early to judge?
Today, is actually the pilot day.
One member of HPG were being interviewed and told the news to please give them more time.
Well, people wanted results right away. But I think it is too unfair for the HPG to come up with the assessment that their solution to address the gridlock is a total failure.
Just imagine, their job is not easy. They were all up just before the sun came out, and were all exposed in the sun almost the whole day.
We have to take into considerations the number of vehicles that they have to look at everyday.
Plus the fact that, the main road is not that wide.
And an extra effort that they have to make just to discipline public utility buses drivers who load and unload passengers anytime they please.
I have a very good experience commuting today, and I can't believe that I was able to make it just before my work grace period.
And with that, I must say that the HPG, must have done something very good.
But the MMDA and some traffic constable has to review the allowed time to load and unload passengers and their designated areas.
Like what we have today, every buses were given a 30 second load and unloading limits to stop.
But this complicate things when there's a lot of passengers blocking the exit, which also serves as the entrance as well.
And there are times that public buses are carrying kids and has old passengers. And that alone, could add up to the cause of traffic.
One great solution, I heard their proposing is to look for a specific spacious bus stops.
Let's hope for the best results on all of these proposals...after all were all going to benefit on this.

Mikayla "kayla" Ysabelle Garabot, Turns 4 (a monthsary celebration)

Exactly, 4 months ago, when the Philippines and the rest of the world await the Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight, at around 4 in the morning, my wife Mary Anne, gave birth to a 6.5lbs baby girl we named..."Kayla."

My very first glance with her, I remember was seeing her right eye open. As if Kayla, was very excited to finally meet her dad in flesh.

The whole family celebrates especially Althea, whom at the time officially became our Eldest.

I and my wife was so happy. We consider the coming of Kayla into our life as God's blessings to us.

And now, that you are in your 4th month, the whole family is even more excited to see how you grow and the everyday changes in your body.

Again, Happy 4th month Kayla...Ate Althea, Mama and Papa loves you so so much!

In control room, directly in-control

Control room experience 090115

I am pretty sure that the control room temperature during our airing is never lowered than 17 degrees. But, at the time, I never felt I'm cold...it was the opposite.
Why I will not, If I know that at that very moment, I'm on a hot seat...positioned to guide the live airing of our program.
It's not that, I am completely new on it. I am actually doing a similar job within the same company but not exactly like this.
Here, because I am in-charge, I have to do math. This one is very vital for the calculations of exact body of the program per gap...including all the commercial loads.
And if that is not enough, in-direct control of stories or segment that should be remove to meet the exact air time.
Now, I'm seeing our Program Director throwing direct questions on me.
But I am also seeing him changing mood at the time.
One story, have been removed re: US Open, and one producer also suggested to cut the FANSPEAK responses from 5 to 3.
I think, I'm in great trouble, we are airing too much.
I am fully aware that we begin the program at 10pm and ends at around 10:25pm.
But I have one VTR from one of our anchor that was over 4minutes, and there was also a reminder not to forget to air PETRON story, a must and a paid segment.
I lack time to act on this.
And it happened, we end the program exceeding to 10:30pm.
I'm quite sad after the show.
I felt that because I am directly in-control...there should always be an anticipation of per gap's total body running time.
After the show, as our rule, one must do a production report.
Lessons learned, consider all the possibilities.
But since this is mainly not the nature of my job as an Associate Producer, I'm still trying to not to put so much blame on myself...after all, I just give somebody a favor to supervised it's airing because the person in-charge is on leave at the time.

A Lovely Day

Our Mcdonalds midbreakfast date

I don't know but when I wake up earlier this morning, I got so excited.
After sending my daughter to school, I immediately went back home and
asked my wife to buy some groceries.
I just told her, I will be asking my Mom to look after our youngest daughter while we were away.
This is not a normal scene, we commute using our bike.
We were like "Dao Ming Si," and "San Chai," a popular couple in a hit Korean Novela dubbed in Tagalog popularly known by many as "Meteor Garden."
Well, my wife wasn't so comfortable on a ride, because she doesn't normally rode on a bike. But of course, I made her feel so secured.
But on our way to grocery, several steps from it, I felt we were on a flat tire. When I double checked...yes we were.
But we won't allow little hindrances kill our happy and excited emotions.
After, our grocery, we were like again a little memorable scene now in movie, I was holding our bike with some groceries, so she was.
And, were having little chats, like were doing it for the first time.
Along the way, I told her I'm hungry.
My wife proposed that I will bring all the groceries at home and she'll just wait for me somewhere.
We end up, having midbreakfast at the nearest Mcdonalds in the City.
I just ordered for my all-time favorite pancakes, while my wife enjoyed her longganisa with rice meal and french fries.
Over a long period of time, we were not dating. Though, we had our first movie attempt a month ago.
But you see, small things like this really matters.
And I really felt that my wife enjoyed it.
She even thanked me for it. which for me is not necessary.
But knowing my wife, who's very appreciative...should I say, it's her nature.
For a simple remembrance, I just asked one crew, to have our picture taken.

Camping out the INC way (at the office)

But everything went okay, bumangon ako ng 7am two hours before my shift.
Mahirap isara and at the same time mahirap buksan. Sabi ko, bahala na kapag may nagbukas ng pinto...I'll just said SURPRISE!

Eto nga palabas na ako, ayaw bumukas. Kinabahan ako, mabuti na lang may susunod na maliligo nakapila sa labas...so binksan niya yung pinto.
Nakaligo ako but I am wearing the same clothes...TIIS muna.

I'll be home soon.

From 5th Avenue ako sumakay.

Pero ganunpaman, maluwag ang LRT1, walang tulakan na naganap at nakaupo pa ako after one or two stations from Munoz.

So lakad at hintay ng kaunti.

Pwede ba yun?
Baka sipain ako ng guard palabas ng istasyon.

Pero, this is something really very serious.

We need aggressive solutions to combat TRAFFIC

Here we go gain, Yes...I am LATE!
And this is not just happening today but for the past 4 consecutive days.
I can't imagine how much deductions would that cause me in my salary...plus MEMO from the company I'm currently working right now.
As far as, I can remember, I am normally giving an hour an a half for my daily work commute.
But eventually, this allowance seems to be not working right now.

LOOKING AT EDSA

Edsa, seems to be big enough. But the volume of private cars and everyday public transportation is actually whooping in great numbers.
And there's no such thing as..."PEAK HOURS," now. Because literally and figuratively there's always a traffic congestion everywhere at any given time.

TRAFFIC SOLUTIONS

Do you think that there are really no solutions on this?
I believe there is, actually there are solutions.
I am a commuter who normally use public transportation 6 times a week.
And, my eyes are widely open for some causes of this.
We need to implement a strong regulations and punishments of those who load and unload passengers anywhere they please.
There are areas that has traffic czar but how about those that remains unguarded?
Then there's this saying..."When the cat is away, the mice will play."
And, this thing whom we do not put attention, really adds to the problem of everyday traffic jams.
Actually, we may lack traffic czar, but if we cannot increase their numbers due to a so-called budget deficiency, we need to provide a good training for them.
I also cannot imagine, a roughly P6 Billion a day this year that the economy is losing because of gridlock. This was according to a Business Group Management Association of the Philippines.
While, the Department of Transportation and Communications, DOTC, says there are long-term solution such as new railway systems, and bus routes. But honestly speaking, these will only materialize between 2016 and 2012.
Too long isn't?

Since, people from all walks of life are affected of traffic jams, You, Me, your neighbor, your co-worker, etc...a temporary solutions that each of us can provide will at least help lessen this boredom.
Remember, we are all here to provide solutions and your opinion matters.
Now, I am looking at EDSA as free-flowing, no traffic congestion.
Let's make this dream ALIVE!

Ang Navotas City Hospital

I've been living in Navotas for more than 33 years now.
Kaya nga ito tinaguriang..."Fishing Capital of the Philippines."
I'm just worried because they are well babies na pwedeng mahawa ng ubo o kung anuman dahil nga magkakadikit sila.

A shower in a Bus?

HAVE YOU EVER EXPERIENCED THIS?

It's not a funny thing to have an unforgettable experience that you'll never expect to happen.
You seem to feel safe under a roof of an air conditioned bus when suddenly, unexpected liquid started dripping on it.
And this is not just one simple leak one can tolerate, because eventually it became a continuous drop.
Enough to get one passenger wet and pissed off.
But it seems that the driver and the conductor are well oriented with it.
Because they never seem to bother with how passengers reacted on it.
