Mikayla Turns 2: A Happy Celebration!

Our youngest we named Mikayla Ysabelle Garabot also known by many as "Kayla," is fascinated with a lot of things.
Kayla when watching TV at home always sing and dance and this came with her improvised microphone. At times, you couldn't figure out some lyrics she's saying but some were getting clear as she was able to pronounce it.
And when it comes to food not unlike other growing kids she's not so picky. Kayla enjoyed almost anything.
But when we think of celebrating her special day, we believe that one of the closest thing in her heart is a party with one of her enjoyed and most visited fast food chain...Jollibee!

We came up with a very small number of visitors comprises of our family from my side and my wife's side and closed friends that has been a part of our heart and Kayla's too.

Kayla's 2nd birthday was very special for one, the party venue was a dream come true for her.
The whole family was thrilled to see how she was so delighted upon seeing a life-sized favorite stuffed toy that she used to play at home, now come alive...Jollibee!

It's like they were best of friends, no need for introduction they're very first meeting was a bold sign that they've established a raporrt for a very long time.

It wasn't our first time celebrating party with Jollibee.
Exactly, 7 years ago...Kayla's sibling Althea also had fun there.

Secondly, the cake and cupcakes for give aways were baked by my wife Mary Anne.
The same photos were posted on our social media sites @letstalkaboutsweets on Instagram and Facebook accounts.
My wife came up with a theme that was very close to Kayla's favorite cartoon character "Minnie Mouse!"

And lastly, Kayla celebrated it with family and closed friends.

And of course, a party wouldn't be complete without parlor games. And because most of our visitors were adults I, my wife and the rest of small group guests played to complete the fun!

Again we wanted to thank people who came in, with the effort you have showed
us we want you to know that it was highly appreciated. We are looking forward for more occasions that all of you can join us and celebrations of your families that we can join as well.

We just wish you good health Kayla as always and may all your dreams come true.
Again, HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU KAYLA...WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!
God Bless You!

Special thanks to Ms. Jemima Abanes
for all the photos taken

NOTE: Kayla's birthday celebration was held last 30th of April, at Jollibee, Navotas City branch
from 1:00pm to 3:00pm
It was an advance celebration...her birthday was May 3rd.

From Filipino to Korean Food!

 A special day means...celebration.
Especially knowing that there are more than one person celebrating it...giving us all valid reason that it should be treated and celebrated differently.

Celebration would only mean pigging out.
But this time, exploring other Asian cuisine like that of Korea!

Never been here. This is because the family is normally exploring what is just available and of course affordable to us.
But somehow, I and my wife were able to experience a taste of Korean food in our favorite..."Bi Bim Bap," which we enjoyed so much.

Going in to the entrance of the restaurant name "Jang Ga Nae," a standee of a Korean girl in national costume will greet you.
It say's..."welcome to Jang Ga Nae!"

I and two more November celebrants Iaree and Lala came in with a car.
We were then given food menus and I was really overwhelmed with the lists,
which I am seeing for the very first time.
But the great thing was, it has photos which will tell you the look of it...but you should try to know how does it tastes.

Honestly speaking, I allowed my two close friends Iaree and Lala to choose for the food that we're ordering.
And after a few minutes, I believe that only took like five...our food were served.

GETTING TO KNOW THE FOOD

DEJI GALBI

Deji Galbi, is a Korean Pork Barbeque.
Well, I must say that the taste of it is not far from our "Filipino Style Barbeque."

DOLSOT

In Korea "Dolsot," means food that was served in a hot stone bowl, a Korean rice dish with assortment of vegetables and a meat (which is optional).

YUK GE JANG

A Korean spicy soup with shredded beef with scallions and other ingredients.
This was what we first tried eating.
There are so many vegetables on it, some were similar to Filipino veggies like that of "Sitaw," (long green beans)...some I do not recognized at all.
It was spicy but since I remember we ordered for a regular spicy flavor of it...its tastes was bearable.

BIBIMBAP

Which literally means "Mixed rice," is served in a bowl of warm white rice topped with namul (Korean seasoned vegetable dish), and gochujang, soy sauce or doenjang (a korean fermented soybean paste).

But above all the things I made mentioned, the exciting part was the served Korean paste along with Deji Galbi and other vegetables which will you wrap in a lettuce and a other leafy veggies to eat.
The very reason why we washed our hands before dining for we will be using our bare hands.

I am a bit hesitant of drinking a tea, I am  more of a drinking water person. But I am not closing myself on the idea of having it.

We do not have much of a talk, for we were all busy minding our meals. Plus the fact that we had our dinner around 8 in the evening.

When it comes to food indeed it was a very exciting experience.
The possibility of dining again is really most likely.

Jang Ga Nae is located at 8137 Plaza, Escriba Drive, Ortigas, San Antonio, Pasig.

Happy 1st Baby Kayla!

The clock is ticking and time really flies fast.
My wife and I couldn't imagine that our youngest whom we named..."Mikayla," A. K. A. "Baby Kayla," has now turned 1.
Exactly, last year 3rd of May 2015, it was Pacquiao's fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr...and that was a stressful day for the whole family and yet our "HAPPIEST DAY," as well.
With the coming of Baby Kayla in our life, now we have two kids...a bold proof that the family is growing.
We would have wanted to give our youngest a big celebration...but at the moment the family is facing financial difficulties.
But that doesn't stops us all to make a simple but a memorable celebration of her special day.
We begin with of course, church visit first thing in the morning and after that we all went outside for a mall visit.
At noon, the family had a simple lunch with my eldest favorite home of grilled chicken...Mang Inasal.
We often visit famous and common fast food chain for merienda but this time...we tried dining in at "Zark's Burgers."
Zark"s Burgers, SM North, May 3, 2016, Tuesday
The truth, it wasn't the best seller of burgers but at least, it gave us all excitement and new flavors.

And, of course an hour visit at the videoke house...where I and my daughter Althea belt out our favorite songs, while my youngest and my wife continuously cheered for us.

Karaoke Hub, SM North, May 3, 2016, Tuesday

But you know, fun never stops from our mall visit...at home with my family and closed friends we wished Baby Kayla her a very HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY.

We are so thankful that my family are so blessed and we wish for the shower of continuous blessings from each other's health, safety, and life's pleasure.

Happy Christening Mikayla!

About six months ago, I and my wife were very lucky to have given the chance to have a child again.
Lucky because, the gap was almost 7 years.

Just this Saturday, November 7, 2015, together with our families, relatives, and close friends..."Mikayla Ysabelle," was baptized.

We planned for a small gathering of about 50 people.
While some were not around because of their schedules...some of them made it.

As parents, were very very happy with the success of the event.
AND, we wanted to thank all of our visitors who celebrated with us.
AND, most of all we would like to thank the Lord God for using several people as instruments
just to make it possible.

The next big thing is the celebration of my eldest 7th birthday.
And I'm sure that it's going to be a one happy gathering as well!
