Althea's First Ramp

Every parents has a dream for their kids and ours just happened this week.
Our 5 year-old daughter named Althea, got shortlisted to model one particular brand of kids clothing..."Elle Kids."

Althea became a part of a fashion show organized by Shangri-la Plaza showcasing their latest collection of kids clothing on this years theme Summer's "Fresh Fashion Picks," which includes participation of over 30 famous brands.

We were told by a common friend about it via a private message through Facebook.
No requirement for a face to face meet-up, just sending of Althea's photos via e-mail.
Of course, since it was her first, I and my wife never expect that she would be shortlisted.

The Downside.
We were told that if the tenant will choose her to model their brand...we won't be receiving
any penny.
The boutique will not shoulder expenses out of hair-styling and make-up.
Even the shoes she'll be wearing to match the clothes will be on our own expense as well.
Since, we are after of experience and new learning for Althea...we commit to them.

Some Immediate Changes.
I remember a week after the holy week, we were told to visit the boutique for clothes fitting.
The following day after the rehearsal comes the big day for the ramp. We all came-in an hour before the event, but was surprise when told that the tenant made changes as to the clothes Althea would be wearing.
We were left no choice but to follow.
They also said that the new set of clothes comes with shoes...but the problem is there was no size for our daughter. If we force her to wear them, she might slip or fall down.
Blessing in disguise, my wife brought another shoes that will match her outfit.

Some Hindrances.
During the actual ramp most of the kids including Althea were surprise with the look of the runway.
Most of them rehearsed from a raw platform, guided by arrows out of an improvised masking tapes.
So, I must say that it's pretty normal for her and for the rest of the models to be of shocked upon seeing it.
Some kids failed to ramp on a runway, some has accidentally removed their slippers, some has tantrums, and one kid run instead of walking. Some did overkill of posing, and Althea got distracted with relatives who waved at her and posed for picture while on ramp.
Well, I can't blame them. Who wouldn't be so proud seeing their kids fulfilling their dreams on the ramp.
But for those who are not aware of it, it would be best if the family or relatives act as spectator to avoid distraction. This will help them to concentrate fully on their craft.
After all, if something went wrong usherettes are there to guide the kids.

A Wonderful Break.
For some first timers like that of Althea, as her parents we would look at it as a wonderful opportunity to showcase her innate talent in modeling.
For some, it's a chance to meet new set of friends, and for some it will open another world to your kids aside from their home, schools, and their usual environment. It's also a test of improving their self-confidence and of course, it's always secondary to think of money over experience.

Looking forward.
We hope that with this exciting event in our kid's life, soon it will open new doors for other opportunity. But whatever comes her way, if she likes it...we are here and willing to not only give her a hundred percent support.
Althea, we want you to know that no matter how big or small your achievement are...I and your Mom will always be here for you.
For now, congratulations to you for a job well done!

From Doughnuts to Cupcakes

We usually have breakfast to start our beautiful morning.
And I know each of us has their own idea of what or where to have
breakfast with.
But of course, every individuals
wouldn't survive a day without other meals like that of lunch,
dinner, in between meals or we commonly referred as "Merienda."
Whether we are craving or not, we always
think of satisfying not just our eyes but most
likely our taste buds.
And by saying that, you would probably think that
"exploring," or by simply looking out for other options would be the
best answer to that.
I and my family normally went to a coffee shops that sells doughnuts.
Why not? We personally think that doughnuts are a perfect pair to any
coffee variants.
Not until we tried having "Cupcakes," to replace it.
Actually, the idea to try something else was the very reason. But mainly,
the shop that sells this fantastic Cupcakes got our attention because it sells...
by just looking at it, a yummy and hard to resist small pieces of cakes.
Well, I must say that the ambiance of the store at the time was a factor,
much more on how "friendly," the crew was.
I ordered for a Red Velvet, while my wife personally chose
Hostess with the Mostess Cupcake.
I paired it with a cappuccino coffee, while my wife requested for an
iced tea.
Well, relatively each cupcake was priced higher than a regular doughnuts.
But I must say that the experience was really worth it.
I know sometimes, it would be very hard for some to break our individual
habit...but you are here to work on your taste buds, and that will only happen
when you look and open up on other possibilities.
One thing I am very certain of now, you cannot just find all the good flavors and taste
in one place...so start exploring.

Worst traffic ever!!!

After work at 7pm I went out of the office immediately.
I am not thinking anything I only wanted to go home.
But street I passed by earlier has many passengers scattered in the streets.
But I am more bothered for I am seeing a very few buses and if there is...it was loaded with a lot of commuters.
Nope, I am not thinking that MRT is now a better option to resolve this. So I made up my mind and after a few minutes I ran towards a bus that went towards North.
So, I made it. I am now inside the bus nevermind if there's no seat available for me.
We were moving but in a very slow motion. If this is a race, I bet even when I'm walking I would definitely win it.
But I said to myself, it's even more better than not making any movement or still left out on the street taking my chances going home.
But when I thought that I was able to surpass the challenge...I was so wrong.
My agony starts now in passing Cubao...we are literally not moving for hours now. If there's a sign of motion it was in a very short distance.
I tried diverting my attention from playing available game application on my cellphone like cut the rope, dumb ways, and even the game I never wanted to try...flappy bird.
I even went for a sleep in a few minutes. I wanted to sleep more but I really don't know why I can't do it anymore. I think I'm really bothered about the heck that the traffic is giving me now.
Well, come to think of it...I am not alone on this journey. I am also with most commuters hoping to get home.
Is this because coding is lifted and most vehicle are now out of the streets making its way on their destination? I think this is the main reason why.
Lord, please continue to give me patience...I need it very badly.
Kindly, answer all our prayers please send us all home now safe.

Pacquiao's victory is every Filipinos Pride!

In the rematch of Manny Pacquiao with his opponent
Timothy Bradley Jr. in Las Vegas earlier
today, Pacquiao dominated Bradley.
For some who has access on cable and has penny
for a pay-per-view live broadcast...knowing
who wins the rematch is quiet an easiest task to do.
While for some, a free TV access provided by
a popular channel here in the Philippines gave most of
our "Pambansang Kamao's" followers a great chance
to view the fight.
At some point, I know you'll also complain of too much advertisements
seen on the lower screens of your TV.  And it really appears continuously every boxing rounds.
And just imagine, how a popular channel who owned the rights to
broadcast it's replay...benefited from so much commercials.
But I think that's how things goes.
I mean who would have not grab that wonderful opportunity to
make money.
I was watching the head-to-head fight and with that 12 full boxing rounds, made
me realized that it was a truly a very exhausting physical game.
But really Pacquiao showed and gave us all a wonderful fight
with Bradley.
It was an entertainment for me seeing Pacquiao punches Bradley.
And much laughter and happiness seeing his opponent embraced him like a baby begging his parents not to live him on his first day in school.
At some point, it bothers me to see Bradley mounting words with Pacquiao.
It could be Bradley's strategy to divert Pacquiao's attention to punch him and lost
concentration on the fight.
But since it's  Pacquioa's piece of cake...that tactic have become Bradley's failure.
And again Pacquaio made the people from all walks of life momentarily quits and stops the
whole nation from their usual Sunday routine.
My warmest congratulations to our Pambansang Kamao, Manny Pacquiao for
successfully bringing home the WBO welterweight bout.
Your victory is our pride!

I'm just a little unwell

I began to feel that I am not well two days before weekend.
I have symptoms of cough and cold.
I usually experience this yearly and this actually occurs when I pushed myself on the edge of my limits.
Last night, I have a terrible cold...and one obvious signs was the uncontrollable drops of it like a water.
Inside I felt I was like having a fever, my throat gave me a dry feeling which requires me to drink a lot of water. The effect was I kept on visiting the men's room only to urinate.
I think I drank water more than the required amount per day.
I also felt uneasy going home from a bus and a jeepney ride.
At home, I only ate a few from our dinner. I even went outside to get some fresh air.
But the night just gave enough hours to recover.
I think that was one of the nicest sleep I got.
The following day, coughing just gave me a big help especially in clearing my throat from excessive phlegm.
I remember my wife just gave me a cough syrup before going to bed...and I'm sure that really helped me a lot.
Though, I'm a little bit well now...I think I still need more rest to fully recover.

Just because...Summer is official!

The heat is on!
You would have wanted to go out and swim. But since you don't have time and has a tight budget...why not do it at home.
Just like what we did earlier, an improvised pool and a little space in the backyard is perfect for a swimming idea.
You might want to add some props like colorful floating balls, shades and a bathing suit to really feel the fun under the sun.

I have just created a new Instagram account

Last March 23, I was lucky to have just opened and created a new Instagram account.
But this one should I say was very different from my personal IG account.
Different in such a way that it featured and will features odd signages.
The whole idea got started while I was walking and have seen signages that was mispelled, written gramatically wrong, and some simply calls my attention for it was totally out of this world.
And with that observation, I was inspired to come up with a new Instagram account that I named... "@weirdosigns."
Since, we respect and never wanted to break any rule about intellectual rights...I'll make it appoint that all pictures are coming from me.
In some cases, one follower contributed his photo but that person's name was properly acknowledge.
You might seen a very similar signages and think about this new account.
Just share your photo with me and together we make this brilliant idea work a lot more better.
