CBCP says do not promote Happy Halloween

Just like an ordinary Sunday I and my family visited church today. But we went to another church in Malabon. It was a boat ride away from Navotas. Much of my observations were focussed on the aesthetic beauty of it. We usually visit the place but most of the times we were at the right side of it. Now I have seen a huge painting in the ceilings that illustrates Jesus Christ’s sufferings. I started counting them and the total is twelve.  Aside from the look...church staffs were very strict about how church goers dressed themselves. One scenario was when my younger sister who’s been wearing a sleeveless called her attention by one of the church staff. Well, I think they have the right to do so. But what I am thinking here is how about some of the guys who attended church the same day wearing shorts? The point here is all church goers who wears inappropriately should be called their attention to. Just to be fair.
And before the mass ended, parish priest leave us a very important message and that is according to the Catholic Bishop Conference of The Philippines or CBCP says do not promote or attend to any Halloween celebration. Stating reasons like on the 1st day of November we’re supposed to celebrate All Saints day. On the 2nd day of the same month All Souls Day. And to sum it up it was not stated there that we have to celebrate or support or even promote devils activities.
Citing a very funny but then important point that we should not put any devil’s horn on any of our children because they were all angels.  The observation of the November 1st to 3rd should be concentrated on the soul of people whom we loved and should be prayed all the time.

Always consider Him

You’ve been hearing about me in my previously posted blogs. Now I’d like to pay attention on the most important lesson I’ve learned today. And I can’t help but share it to all of you.
Let me begin the story by asking you a question. When you go and invited to attend a birthday party do you prepare? I believe the answer is yes, right? Because what we have all in mind is that it is a once in a lifetime event and we really have to prepare. And talking about it…our preparation not only ends at thinking what kind of birthday presents are we going to bring, but also with  a great consideration on the type of dress you’ll be wearing, right?
How about when going to church, do you consider thinking what type of dress you’ll be wearing? Because this is one obvious observation I have been seeing most of the times. I attended church today and the homily got concentrated on it.
Some of our church goers usually taken for granted this one important thing. At the end of the day I know you’ll be saying that what the Lord is looking at us is not in the way we dress ourselves. But instead God will look at us on how strong our faith on Him. But we have to be proper especially in the home of God.
And lastly…always came early and don’t be late. Because God’s blessing comes on a perfect timing when you ask. And even not asking Lord knows already what we need.

There’s no place like home

Our daughter Althea is well again. So my wife and I went back to our normal routine, she goes to work and I did the same thing.
Never knew that later on we will be dealing with one great storm name Pedring.
First thing in the morning I was told by my researcher that our first shoot appointment was cancelled. So what I did is I went to plan B, pursue the shoot just adjust the time. Here comes another element of surprise and got confronted with having a decision whether to push thru with the shoot despite of the weather? But another mind boggling decision I had to face and that is having the coverage without the segment host. Well, they do have a valid reason there was a huge storm on their way blocking them.

Finally, I and my researcher go on with our coverage without the segment host, and asked them if they have a better schedule for the week. With God’s grace and glory they’ll came up with a schedule and that is before Friday. Safe shoot before editing and previewing begins.

To cut the long story short, we finish the shoot for the day.

I decided to check on my wife after I went back at GMA 7, and we both agreed to meet at SM North.
We had dinner, and before leaving we bought some stuffs like candles and flashlight for we’ve been told that there was a power interruption brought about by vivid rain and wind.

We had a smooth travel going to Navotas, not knowing that our struggles will begin there. We had been wondering why there was no jeepney going through C4? But we had noticed pieces of plastic garbage scattered all-over the place. My wife said “Doomsday!”

Until after a few minutes there was a jeepney with Navotas signage approaching. My wife Mary Anne, called my attention and right away get into it. During our travel…rain didn’t stop from falling plus there’s flood everywhere. And that serves as our hindrance and made our trip like a lazy turtle.

We spent more than an hour passing through C4 up to Navotas Municipal. Our driver has decided to stop his engine for the water is reaching his engine’s exhaust. We look for other alternatives and the 6by6 truck during that time came to us in just a perfect timing.  During our transport going to Navotas, We have seen the exact condition of flooded areas, it’s above knee level. Number one reason why vehicles like jeepneys  and the like is having a hard time passing through it.

After a few minutes, we’ve reached the undrown area blocks away from our home. There was no tricyle and it was dark for storm had brought a power interruption all-over Navotas. We had no choice then we have to walk, so we walked. I was barefooted for I never wanted my pair of shoes drown in the water. My wife has been telling me to wear my shoes, but I refused to do so.

Our goal that night was to go home. We both know that our daughter Althea is waiting for us.  We are 3 blocks away from home. But because there was water everywhere it gave us difficulty. Even though there was a valid reason for us to be so sad because of the situation, we boost both ourselves and even said several times…later on we’ll be home and we will be with our daughter.

It was dark all-over the place and the led flashlight had helped us to see what’s ahead of us. We we’re both praying that we wouldn’t be harm during our flood struggles. And really God answered our prayer, after a few minutes…we’re home. Our daughter cried upon seeing us.

It was one memorable night. But I’m glad it happened with my wife beside me. And truly I must say…There’s no place like home!

How To Deal

When in not expected situation you received a call and the one who’s on the line speaking to you is your boss. But your boss’ tone is in for a certain issue and wanted to argue will you remain calm?
This was the exact scenario I got in last time. But how much patience will you give if that person keeps on nagging you?
There are words spoken which really hurts me entirely. And the next thing I know…I hang-up on my boss’ phone call.
Confrontation came-in after and words like…”How dare you!” which was repeated several times we’re the only lines uttered unto me. And the next thing I’ve notice…my boss also did the same thing on me.
But you know what? I don’t know but deep inside my heart I felt that what I did is just right.
I believe in the power of communication. But if you are going to abuse the used of it for your power tripping then the best thing to do is to end it.
Come to think of it… when we do something and never use any words but only showed a certain gesture that is indeed another way of communicating. Much more if and when you say something in high pitch.
If the only reason you accept all the things your boss is telling you because you love and never wanted to lose your job, you’re not doing it right.
Communication is a two way process, meaning to say it should not be your boss voice should be heard all the time. If you allow this thing to happen most of the times, the next thing you know you’re one of those stupid person. And I strongly believe you never wanted that thing to happen on you.
After the intensity of your argument decreases then that’s the time you have to do something about it. Talk to your boss. And if you tried and again your boss blocks you from explaining yourself...it goes without saying that you’re not anymore making a healthy working relationship with your boss. Leave and look for other jobs.
This is what we have to remember, “respect is entitled to everyone”. You do not have to say hey respect me! It should be there all the time in any kind of relationships. Because if this one word “respect “went out of our system how can we achieved harmony.
