Our First Family Visita Iglesia

Hindi ko pa talaga naranasan na mag-Visita Iglesia simula ng nagtrabaho ako.
Para kasing dalawang bagay lang yung pagpipilian ko ang pumasok sa work o magpahinga na lang sa bahay (staycation baga). Pero I always end up working dahil kailangan mong magduty.

So, with that kind of experience before, hindi ko masyadong nararamdaman ang mahal na araw lalo na ang pakahulugan nito sa mga katolikong gaya ko rin.


ANO ANG VISITA IGLESIA AT ANG KAHALAGAHAN NITO?

Ang pagbisita sa ibat-ibang simbahan o VISITA IGLESIA ay ginagawa taon-taon ng mga katoliko saan mang bahagi ng mundo. Sa nakaugalian ito ay isinasakatuparan tuwing "HUWEBES," o "HOLY THURSDAY," kung saan sa nakagawiang tradisyon PATAY PA ANG PANGINOONG HESUKRISTO.

Kung ating mapapansin ang imahe ni Hesus, ang tagapagligtas ng mundo na anak ng Panginoon, kasama ng iba pang mga SANTO ay binabalutan o balut ng kulay "LILA," o "VIOLET," na tela na ang ibig sabihin ay simbolo ng pagluluksa o pagdadalamhati.

Bagamat sinasabi ng ilan na kung gagawin mo ang "VISITA IGLESIA," dapat ay makapito kang simbahan man lang ngunit ang iba dinodoble pa ang bilang nito o higit pa.
Pero ang pakiwari ko rito ay hindi ito paramihan ng simbahang mabibisita o 'tila parang "KARERA," o "RACE," sa iba...susukatin natin dito ang lalim ng ating "PANANAMPALATAYA".

Wala naman din ito sa tagal ng pananatili sa simbahan kundi sa iyong bukal na instensiyon na isa kang katoliko at TAIMTIM na NANANALANGIN sa Panginoon bilang bahagi ng pagpapakita ng iyong DEBOSYON.

Nakakausap ako ng isang matandang babae na una ay nakisuyong kunan ko siya ng larawan sa harap ng simbahang nabisita na nito. Ayon sa kanya, nadismaya siya sa ilang simbahang hindi man lamang naglagay ng "STATION OF THE CROSS," o lugar panalanginan ng mga debotong gaya niya. Idinagdag niya pang ano raw ba ang iniisip ng ibang mga simbahan, hindi na mananalangin ang mga tao?

Bagamat may ilan ngang simbahan na hindi na nag-abalang maglagay ng mga station of the cross na aming nabisita rin.


UNANG VISITA IGLESIA KASAMA ANG BUONG PAMILYA

San Jose Parish Church, Palm Sunday, Navotas City.

Naalala ko na napag-usapan naming mag-asawa nung kami ay dumalo ng araw ng LINGGO NG PALASPAS na aming paghahandaan ang nalalapit na VISITA IGLESIA sa MAHAL NA ARAW.
Pero pinili naming umalis ng bandang hapon upang iwasan ang nakahahapong init ng araw.

Bukod dito kasama rin kasi namin ang mga bata na kauna-unahang beses lamang ding masusubukan kung ano nga ba at bakit ginagawa ang tradisyomg ito.
Naisip namin na sa kanilang murang edad, mahalaga na ngayon pa lang ay mulat na sila dito gaya din ng ginawa ng aming mga magulang noong kami'y mga bata pa lamang.


VISITA IGLESIA SA MGA SIMBAHAN SA NAVOTAS AT MALABON

San Jose Parish Church, Navotas City.

Nagsimula kaming bisitahin ang PAROKYA ng aming MAHAL na SAN JOSE,
o SAN JOSE PARISH CHURCH sa NAVOTAS.
Dumating kami doon halos ika-lima ng ng hapon at tila magdaraos ng misa ang naturang simbahan.
Malapit sa amin ang simbahang ito, lalo't higit sa akin na dito na lumaking nagsisimba mula pa noon.

Bagama't mayroong malaking gate ang naturang simbahan...bukas ito sa mga taong nais pumunta rito kahit na hindi magsisimba. Dahil maluwag ang ito sa umaga ay puntahin ito ng mga taong gaya ko na madalas ay tumatakbo rito o nage-ehersisyo araw-araw.
Magandang lugar din ito para magsanay ng larong volleyball, basketball, maglaro ng badminton at marami pang iba.

Kami ay panandaliang nanalangin at saka nilisan ang lugar upang magtungo naman sa aming susunod na bibisitahing simbahan.

San Roque Parish Church, Navotas City.

Ang aming pamilya ay dumako naman sa SAN ROQUE PARISH CHURCH," o "PAROKYA NI SAN ROQUE".

Isang maliit lamang na simbahan at dumating kami roon ng may mga nagsisi-awit na CHOIR.
Sa labas ng simbahan makikita mong may bahagi nito kung saan maaari kang magsindi ng iba't-ibang kulay ng kandila PUTI, DILAW, PULA at marami pang iba.
Bagama't walang station of the cross...may isang bahagi na malapit sa sindihan ng mga kandila na lugar upang ikaw ay makapagnilay-nilay rin.

Bagama't hindi ito ang mismong lugar kung saan ako nagsisimba kasama ang aking pamilya tuwing linggo, paminsan-minsan noon ay napupunta rin ako sa lugar. Ganunpaman, ito ang unang beses na napadako ang aking pamilya sa simbahang ito.

Sto. Nino Church, Navotas City.

Sunod naman naming pinuntahan ang STO. NINO CHURCH, isang maliit ngunit maaliwalas na simbahan. Hindi ko maalala kung nagsimba na ako dito noon, pero ang alam ko kasi ito ay isang maliit na kapilya na kaylan lang muling nagkaron ng Pari o regular na nagdaraos ng misa tuwing linggo.

Ang aking alaala sa lugar ay libreng nakakapagburol ng patay sa tabi ng simbahan nito.
Hindi rin naman kami nagtagal sa lugar na yun at tumungo na susunod na simbahan.

Ang susunod naming destinasyon ay kailangang lumabas ng NAVOTAS dahil ang simbahang ito ay matatagpuan sa MALABON. Ngunit dahil halos magkalapit lamang ang dalawang siyudad na ito at kalimitang pinag-uugnay lamang ng mga malilit na tulay madali itong puntahan ninuman.

Mas pinili namin ang madaling paraan upang marating ang naturang simbahan, sa transportasyong hindi gamit ang dyip, tricycle de motor o de-padyak kundi sa pamamagitan ng pagsakay ng isang bangka.

Family Banca Ride going to Malabon

Isa sa mainam na at matipid na biyahe papuntang Malabon ay ang pagtawid sa isang bangka.
Sa aming lugar may dalawang tawiran ng bangka doon, ang sa amin ay sa Tres samantalang ang isa pang tawiran ay matatagpuan malapit sa San Roque sa Navotas.
Sa halagang limang piso nakakasakay ka na ng bangka kasama ang iba pa, pero kung nais mo naman ng SPECIAL TRIP o MAG-ISA dahil ika'y nagmamadali...kailangan mo lang magbayad pa ng halagang sampung piso.
Pero madalas hindi ka rin mag-isang sakay ng bangka, kadalasa'y isinasabay ka na rin sa iba pang mga gusto ring tumawid.

Sakay ng bangkang ito...makatatawid ka na papuntang MALABON para sa iyong sunod na VISITA IGLESIA sa simbahan ng CONCEPCION o CONCEPCION CHURCH.

Bago ka tuluyang pumasok sa loob nito, sa labas nito ay bubungad sayo ang napakalaking imahe ni KRISTO.

Sa labas sa gilid ng simbahan makikita ang STATION OF THE CROSS.
Kapansin-pansin ang mga KRUS na nakatindig gamit ang MONOBLOCK na mga bangkuan.

Mula sa Simbahang ito, hindi nalalayo ang SAN BARTOLOME CHURCH, isang malaking simbahan na itinayo pa noong 1861.
Ito ang pinaka-kilalang simbahan sa Malabon.

San Bartolome Church, Malabon City.

Naging bahagi ito ng aming buhay ng pinili naming binyagan ang aming bunsong anak na si Mikayla noong Nobyembre taong 2015.

Nagdaraos ang simbahan ng misa ng kami ay dumating...at matapos maglaan ng maiksing panalangin lumabas na kami at sa labas nito naroroon ang kanilang STATION OF THE CROSS.

Matapos naming bumisita sa naturang simbahan, nagdesisyon na kaming maghapunan na muna.
Sa huling simbahan na aming binisita sa labas nito bumungad sa ami ang mga NAMAMANATA sa pamamagitan ng "PENITENSIYA".

Medyo matagal na ng huli akong nakakita ng mga taong nilalatayan ang kanilang likod, at pagkakita ko rito lumapit ako agad tiningnan ng malapitan. Buhat ko noon ang aking dalawang-taon gulang na anak na hindi ko naisip na matatakot at mabibigla sa kaniyang makikita.
Ngunit hindi rin naman kami nagtagal pa...maya-maya ay pumasok na rin kami sa loob.

San Ildefonso Church, Malabon City.

Kilala ito bilang SAN ILDEFONSO CHURCH, na ngayon ay kasalukuyang UNDER RENOVATION. Maliit lamang ang simbahang ito at ang kaniyang lokasyon ay sa baba ng tulay o pagakyat ng tulay papuntang MALABON rin.

Halos tatlong oras din sa kabuuan ang inabot para lamang mapuntahan namin ang mga simbahang aking nabanggit. May maliit pa sana kaming simbahang pupuntahan ngunit ang maliit na kapilyang ito ay sarado noon.


Ang alaala ko noon ng MAHAL NA ARAW ay ang pagpila naming buong pamilya sa isang simabahan sa TONDO na kilala ng lahat na simbahan ng BANGKULASI.
Hindi ko yun makakalimutan dahil sobrang haba ng pila ang kailangan mong tiisin, mapasok lamang ang simbahan. Marami rin kasing gaya namin noon ang nais na bumisita doon.


HULING PANALITA

Bagama't hindi matutumbasan ninuman ang sakripisyong ginawa ng PANGINOON sa pagkamatay ng kanyang BUGTONG NA ANAK na si HESUKRISTO upang tubusin ang ating mga kasalanan...isa ito sa pinaniniwalaang sakripisyo ng mga KATOLIKO saan mang bahagi ng mundo upang maipakita ang kanilang PANANAMPALATAYA sa DIYOS patay man o BUHAY.

Althea's Recognition Day!

Three days ago, I posted a picture of my eldest daughter's HUMBLED achievement.
And it was stated there that in her class as this semester ends SY 2017-2018 she was recognized as student with honor.

And who wouldn't be so HAPPY with this achievement?
I think no PARENTS can HIDE and DENY that kind of FEELING.
This was because YOU know for a fact that the reason he/she STOOD OUT was because they STUDIED well.


BIG DAY

We were all geared up for the RECOGNITION DAY set on a HOLY MONDAY, 26th of March.
We have witnessed everything Althea practiced with the rest of her SCHOOLMATES who were told to receive SPECIAL SET of AWARDS and those who were RECOGNIZED as TOP on their respective grade levels and sections.

Althea even rehearsed for a SPECIAL NUMBER along with her CLASSMATES.
There was even a time, on the last day of her practice...she was vomiting.
I don't know we are not doctors to conclude that it happened because she was too stressed.

The NIGHT before recognition day unfolds Althea was telling us that she was too EXCITED.
We just told her to go to bed early for she has a BIG DAY coming the following day.


THERE'S A SURPRISE

We use to believed in every movie that there's always a HAPPY ENDING.
Who wouldn't want that?
But sometimes even though we knew what to EXPECT...there's this BEAUTIFUL TWIST that even making the STORY more EXCITING.

Althea together with her MOM (Meanne), lined-up with parents and students to.
But on their way going to the stage, Althea's TEACHER asked her to move at the back.
Some of my daughter's parents were wondering why? But they were teased with an answer...SECRET!

And there she was her name got mentioned but the SPIEL from the announcer was DIFFERENT from what was said in the practice.

AND IT SAYS...

ANNOUNCER: "Batang nagkamit ng mataas na karangalan...KIRSTEN ALTHEA GARABOT!

Honestly speaking, I was BUSY RECORDING it at that moment and that VERY PARTICULAR BOLD LINES which says "BATANG NAGKAMIT NG MATAAS NA KARANGALAN," just slipped my ATTENTION.

But AFTER it was ANNOUNCED...everything became SO CLEAR to me when my WIFE SHOWED me my daughter's CERTIFICATE INDICATING that ALTHEA just received an ACADEMIC EXCELLENT AWARD not just "WITH HONOR," but with "HIGH HONORS."

ALTHEA'S ACADEMIC EXCELLENT AWARDS

 Althea began receiving awards back in 2015, at the time she was just a KINDER she was recognized as 2nd HONOR.

Then came another year when she finally entered ELEMENTARY, she was FIRST HONOR, when she was GRADE ONE.

Followed by another year where ALTHEA also ACHIEVED and RANKED 1st again in their class.

This YEAR was another BLESSING we ARE ALL THANKFUL.


ALTHEA SAYS THANK YOU TO...

I believe that Althea got so many people she wanted to personally say THANK YOU too.

Number one, all her TEACHERS who never get TIRED of giving lessons to her everyday.

Secondly, she also draws inspiration to all her classmates who somehow sometimes (with or without intention) UNDER ESTIMATED her CAPACITY.
But at the time she's going HOME and narrating SAD stories about it, we just BOOST her MORALE.
But that's ONE GREAT characteristic of ALTHEA she knows how to focus on THINGS that MATTERS.

And ALTHEA never even FORGOTTEN to say thank you to people WHO WAS SO DEAR to her specifically her aunties and uncle and her GRANDPARENTS as well.

FINALLY, saying WARM THANK YOU to us her PARENTS.
She even made a CARD that has a VERY INSPIRING MESSAGE that actually came from the VERY BOTTOM of her HEART.

And giving EMPHASIS that..."IF IT WASN'T FOR US...THIS ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT WOULDN'T BE POSSIBLE!"

Just like the rest of the PARENTS/GUARDIANS out there WE are very PROUD of YOU!

Althea's recognition day was held last 26th of March 2018 at Navotas Elementary School Central, San Jose Navotas City.

My Perfect You: The Movie Review

We have seen teasers that was played over and over again while we were watching our favorite TV shows.
And I must personally say that the newly tandem of Pia Wurtzbach and Gerald Anderson is truly an exciting movie to watch out for.
My youngest Mikayla (2y/o) were thrilled and even memorized a famous line in the movie where the lead actress Pia,  have seen lead actor Gerald after bathing in the river just covered with a bath towel with a hole said...
Pia/Abi: "Ay ang puti!"
Gerald/Burn: "Nang Ano?"
Pia/Abi: Ang puti mo pala pag fresh!"

This particular scene and teaser convinced me and my wife to again visit the theater and watch the movie.

But before doing this we have to check what was the rating given by cinema evaluation board and MTRCB in the movie...luckily, its GRADED B and RATED PG.


MOVIE SYNOPSIS

Gerald Anderson a.k.a. Burn Toledo was a graphic artist who planned for a marriage proposal to a girlfriend/co-worker. Apparently, Burn's expectation wasn't met for it refuses her to marry him and even said she hates to be part of his family due to "SCHIZOPHRENIC,"issue on her mother. At the beginning of the movie, this won't be revealed right away.
This scenario made Burn's life became miserable, he never leaves the office for days and never go home, he also losses his work concentration and eventually fired from work.
Burn took his car and drove himself far from his family but while this scene was happening continuously he was talking to a certain "ARIS," a family psychiatric doctor whom at the time he was having a dialogue with asking on how to stop everything from happening. Until eventually, while Burn's car was on a high speed a certain women appeared, he tried to get away with it that led his car to a cliff and eventually bumped into a tree.
He started to look for people and eventually found a REMOTE RESORT named "HAPPY SUNSHINE RESORT," and met someone who introduced herself as "ABI," Pia Wurtzbach.
At first Burn never welcomed Abi but because she was too persistent eventually they became friends and at the latter part Burn fell in-love with Abi and vice-versa.
As the story progresses, in one scene Burn heard a familiar voice coming from his niece calling his name and then another voice from her sister.
Burn eventually woke-up from his room, with his father TONTON GUTIERREZ, DIMPLES ROMANA, her sister, and ARIS, a family doctor.
He was then asked if they recognized them all. And from his room Burn started mentioning ABI, who apparently was explained to him was all part of his illusion.
Here, the movie revealed that Burn has SCHIZOPHRENIA, and ARIS was convincing the family to treat his illness by undergoing sessions of therapy to combat this.
At the end of the movie, Burn's mental disorder were treated and a certain "ABI," whom was all part of his illusion were introduced as a new person whom he just met at the coffee shop.


MOVIE LOCATION

Almost 70 percent of the scene in the movie were shot in a remote resort where there was an existing rocky river with a very clear water.
We were actually looking at the end credits where this was shot but maybe we just missed it or it wasn't revealed at all because maybe this was a private owned resort or it was a protected area.
The place was very perfect for people who would have wanted to be alone or just wanted a break-away from urban setting.
Even though most of the scene were shot in the river...expect a great CINEMATOGRAPHY, breath-taking forest, the trees, the rocky side of the river, and even a man-made bridge was additional view to spectators.


PIA AND GERALD: THEIR CHEMISTRY
I don't know, I don't think Gerald never had any problem falling in-love with the beautiful Pia Wurtzbach who played Abi in the movie. And I also ABI-LIEVE that movie goers like me would definitely agree on this.
Pia's appearances in the movie was a sure head-turner, she looked FRESH all the time and CONSISTENT with her role as "Ball of Sunshine," in the movie.
Though, I felt as a viewer Pia and Gerald's romance part was a little less, the two actor and actresses had given their very BEST when it comes to acting.
Of course, Gerald's acting was a higher level than of Pia.
But you would certainly listen to Pia when she was throwing her dialogues,it was clear and with a heart. And that you would FEEL Burn's miseries, how problematic he was in the movie played by Gerald Anderson.
But Molina's (The Director), concentration was very obvious on Gerald Anderson acting because I guess they knew from the start that Anderson has so much to give in acting compare to Pia.
But this comparison I'm making was not to make Pia feel that she was a less person here when in comes to acting. Just wanted to clear that I am looking at it at a perspective where I am seeing Pia, as an actress who was just recently introduced.
I believe that it was clear to everyone that this was her launching movie and that it was so "BIG," for her after winning the MISS UNIVERSE 2016 crown.
But for me, this particular role given to her was a perfect training ground for her to blossom soon as Philippine's finest movie actress too.


MOVIE STORY TELLING

I love watching movies and the story was not new to me as I have seen such story telling in some foreign films. I am actually referring to making spectators believe that what they were seeing was really true in the movie. But in a local films this was a VERY STRONG TWIST in the movie.
We were all convinced at the beginning that what we are seeing was all true...until eventually EVERYTHING was just an ILLUSION?!
This was ONE STRONG BOLD PROOF that the WRITER'S imagination in the movie was just turned into REALITY.
Imagine, there was a established ROMANCE between Pia and Gerald at the BEGINNING of the movie up to the end part.
But at the latter part of the movie IT WAS JUST ABOUT TO START because literally the REAL ABI was just introduced and met by BURN at the end of the movie.


MOVIE STRONG POINT

But one good observation was it has a STRONG disposition on TACKLING mental illness or SCHIZOPHRENIA that could happen to any members of our family.
A bold MESSAGE that when this specific illness approaches ONE MUST SEEK CONSULTATION from THE EXPERTS and that there's a SOLUTION a THERAPY for this.
But at the end, a MESSAGE that a STRONG FOUNDATION to COMBAT this is THE UNENDING SUPPORT of LOVED ONES.

The memorable Positano Room 502 visit in Azure

Everybody deserves a vacation break.
Whatever it is usually from work, or you just want to go out, unwind and relax.
But what if some of your expectations in a specific place you've been to haven't met?
Will you say that your vacation were screwed.

THE SEARCH IS OVER

There's this particular hotel finder I always turn to when looking for a specific place to travel and stay...and that is "BOOKING (dot) COM."

The very first time I had visit with its website, I was fascinated that there was something so helpful like this. Imagine, you can easily get access with different apartments and hotels registered here.
And it is in the click of your hand you'll get to choose the best place, and affordable room to stay.

Through this dedicated hotel finder I found..."AZURE!"


WHY AZURE?

Azure was so different from the usual two previous DMCI properties the family checked-in.
It has a pool but this one has a concept of a "BEACH TYPE POOL with SANDS", "WAVE POOL," and probably best "PHOTOGRAPHED ROOMS."
Given all of this, thinking twice booking it for the family monthly vacation was never went my mind.

 The booking was made as early as 5th of February of this year and we never moved or changed the date.

WHAT WENT WRONG?

Booking with AZURE was far from the experience I had with other apartments where owners were getting in-touch with possible tenants week before the agreed upon date...here was literally a day before the said date unfolds.

A certain Danielle called me up...not clear if she's the owner of the apartment or just someone who were asked to managed it.
Our conversation was cut but at the time we were talking about our reservation if were pushing through? But she also indicated in her dialogue that there will be additional fees and that what was written in the agreement posted by BOOKING (dot) COM the "FEE," they were talking about was all just for "ROOM RATE ACCOMMODATION," only.

We were cut...reason why she explained other fees along with the following COMPUTATIONS.

But TRY TO LOOK AND STUDY IT CAREFULLY (what was screen capped) was far from what BOOKING was telling me.

FROM THIS YOU WILL SEE SOME INCONSISTENCIES.

She (Danielle) actually appeased me by saying "I CAN
CANCEL IT FOR FREE."

But getting the very LOGIC of it...we were all MINDSET on this and that my KIDS were two excited about it. CANCELLING it FOR ME at the time was not the best option, I can't afford to see my kids in SADNESS. After all, they had their SWIMWEAR ready, and other SWIMMING ESSENTIALS too.

I allowed my wife to continue conversation with her but at the end we had a MUTUAL agreement on BOOKING on it.


HOW CAN SOMETHING SO GOOD BECAME SO WRONG

AZURE is situated in Paranaque, the family just commuted via different mode of transportation such as...jeep, LRT1, and finally TAXI.

The taxi driver told us to navigate SLEX instead of the service road for it was too traffic...but this option do not just gave us ADDITIONAL P49 fee but also gave us a 30minute TRAFFIC.

From the lobby of POSITANO you'll see many tenants like us lining-up to sign and leave our ID's for security purposes.

But ONE great OBSERVATION I have seen was how small was the space provided for the ELEVATORS (at the time we were all there, it was weekend) so EXPECT VOLUMES of TENANTS booked at every apartments available.

The LOOK of the ELEVATOR "HITACHI," never even get away my sight for it has as INDICATED 10 PEOPLE and about 750KG but at the time my two kids were inside I and my wife along with other tenants whom I think never reaches that total number of its capacity...was too tight for all of us.
And since it serves until 20th floors or more...your "PATIENCE WILL BE TESTED for WAITING."

The room where we stayed was actually "GOOD," but it was more "BETTER," than it was PHOTOGRAPHED in BOOKING.

Except for an OPENED CABINET DRAWER below (see visible pipes and empty pep bottles).
The person who assisted us (WILSEL) kept us informed about it, it was just fixed by her by simply adjusting the pipes and that no utility boys available to put the door back together.

But WAIT there's MORE...my eldest took a bath using a broken shower. See how this thing works for her since Althea, couldn't use it properly because the water that now goes out with it loose its direction, she just open the water faucet and simply placed her head underneath to rinse it thoroughly.
Just imagine, how SIMPLE things get COMPLICATED.

Do they know about this?

And what I DO NOT EXPECT WORST that might not happen but it HAPPENED...POWER OUTAGE.

But what BOTHERS us was were the only apartment on the floor that has been experiencing it at the moment.

I was MAD at this but still CONTROLLED my TEMPER.

I TEXTED Danielle, and SARCASTICALLY reported about it. I do not get REPLY right away so I called her...this time I was really MAD, I told her to fix it.

We bumped in to WILSEL at the grocery store and she narrated that what APARTMENT were renting for a day were installed by a PREPAID ELECTRICITY...OMG!
And we were not told about it.

The POWER went back after 20 to 30minutes...HOW PATHETIC was that?!

At this time, I was then explaining my FAMILY about it...they were ALL DISSAPOINTED as well.


My kids were too excited getting into the water but since it has too many apartments that was for daily rentals...expect volumes of visitors.

We started lining-up around 8:30 in the morning along with those EXCITED tenants wearing their SWIM WEARS...and we reached the payment counter and finished everything around 9:20 am.
And that was 50 MINUTES SPENT literally lining up.
