How Lalamove, Moved Me!

Doing business is something that really requires hardwork.
From buying  ingredients, preparing the mixtures ready for baking, putting them on the oven, up to totally waits until everything is baked already!
But wait there's more, there's another leg work that should be taken seriously and that is the...delivery part.
Before, our practice @letstalkaboutsweets
"We value taste and design" is to handle the delivery by ourselves.
But I think it's a primitive practice nowadays because there are so many trusted freight and cargo deliveries today.
And the good news is one of them is Lalamove!

It was just this very month, December that I started downloading the App.
We have a delivery situation located in Mandaluyong.
I started booking 22nd of December at noon.
Right then and there upon looking for a motorcycle, I received one call from the courier.

I was told about his location somewhere in the 10th Avenue in Caloocan, while I was booking from Navotas.
Though, the courier has a problem locating my destination, cited a reason that it was his first time going to the city.
He was so polite. The very reason, I extended my patience.
The courier got lost at the moment because he said he went to a shortcut but couldn't answer where he was exactly.
I think it took us almost an hour before he found my exact location.
What he did was called me via his earphone and started giving him exact location and some famous landmarks.
I think about an hour or less, the courier texted me that he was able to deliver the baked items on the location I gave him.
Plus a friend whom I sent the items, also confirmed that it was successfully received and delivered.

Since I and my wife were very delighted with the outcome...a few days after, 28th of December we booked for Lala Move again.

Courier
This time, our location was just somewhere in Quezon City, along with a famous church landmark.

The only changes that I noticed was the courier do not call me. But I monitored his location it's moving and I can also track the estimated number of minutes about his whereabouts.

This time, our client, who was a also a friend of mine ordered for our 10 pcs of Banana Loaves.

After an hour, I personally checked from a friend if it was delivered on her, she said it was successfully received.
Though, I am expecting a text coming from a courier...which he promised to do, I just looked for ways how to confirm it.

The other problem I have seen was booking at the desired location where I was with.
Since, it couldn't trace me. I just resolved this by looking at a very near and familiar landmark.
I just exerted an effort to really went out my way, about 1 block in order for the courier to locate me.

But the whole service was very dependable. After our two transactions, we called for Lala Move again.

Lalamove is a Hong Kong based freight and cargo delivery that started operating in the Philippines, 1st of November 2016.

Surprised also with other services they're providing right now.

2nd shot scheduled antirabies
21st of November 2019
Navotas Wellness Center

"Mina" The four-legged feline creature

Antitetanus shot for Althea

A text conversation with Mayor Toby Tiangco
City Mayor, Navotas

Laging tatandaan..."Prevention is better than cure!"

MERALCO on Hotline 16211

In the middle of the night when everything is set and you are in your pajamas when suddenly all your appliances shuts down and the next thing you are sure of there was really a...POWER FAILURE.

Steps taken here, I opened the door, went outside and checked the neighborhood.
But I was so SURPRISE when the only house that was affected was OUR house and OUR house only.
See how WEIRD was that?!

It was already 2:00 in the morning that time and most of the people in the neighborhood was already in their beds sleeping. But us was a different SCENARIO.

I and my wife began to think of ways on how to resolve it, because we have kids who can't stand the heat. At first they were given an ICE CANDY, to cool and calm down. While me on the other hand, went outside to call HOTLINE 16211 of MERALCO.

I actually remember this hotline but had to GOOGLE their other number so that I can easily reach them for the concern.

I once texted them to REPORT the INCIDENT in our barangay.

Then made a direct call on their hotline to speak to a customer service representative to file the report.
I was answered by a woman named "JOYCE," who's been very polite and accommodating too.
I just remembered once where she actually asked my surname again and spelled it to find my record.
I was actually asked for my SERVICE ID NUMBER. But since there was a power failure in our home...I actually never bothered to look for our current MERALCO BILL. This was because I know that there was other way on how to check my details.
They just asked several questions like my complete address and date of my birth.
After it was verified, I gave them the details where to find us...then came a text that there was a report created about my concern.

And after like 40 minutes my phone rang and to my surprise it was from one MERALCO STAFF who wanted to know exactly where our street was.

Since, I really wanted them to fix it right away, I went out and walked one block and found them waiting in-front of the landmark I gave.

I walked their way to see the post where our line were installed.
There was one man named "IGNACIO DIOMEDES," one of the UTILITY CREW who came out of the car and spoke to me that they were just around to locate and checked where our post was.
I was also told that the lineman will be coming all the way to VALENZUELA but they're not sure yet because they're might be a possible POWER INTERRUPTION in other places that they're currently working on at the moment.

I just went back home and told my wife about it.
But I was HAPPY at the time that there was SOMEBODY from MERALCO who went to us and CHECKED us.

A few minutes the kids were at sleep and we were actually using a fan continuously not to awake them. It was TIRING but we had to do that for their welfare.

After an hour, I made a follow-up call and this time I was SPEAKING to another CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE named "NATASHA."
With her help, I was enlightened that there was just a LOOSE WIRE from LINE 5...the very reason of the POWER OUTAGE.

While waiting again for the DEVELOPMENT...I and my wife were having a conversation while doing this we were having ICED TEA to at least ease the heat.

Around 4:30 in the morning again, I tried calling MERALCO hotline again and spoked with "KARA," who's been becoming at the time very apologetic because there was still no progress reported to them on the concern filed the after 3 LONG HOURS.

My wife after the said call told me to check if MERALCO was around.
I walked outside and SPOTTED UTILITY CREW continuously working on it.
I never wanted to bother the team working on the problem but out of CURIOSITY I asked one neighbor and found out that they were there about an hour ago.

Looking from a far, I have seen UTILITY CREW plate's number ACK 7514.

It was around 4:40 in the morning when the POWER went back again.

I'm just surprised that even it was SUNDAY morning they have WORKING PEOPLE...SOLVING THE PROBLEM.

Thank you MERALCO HOTLINE 16211 and the whole TEAM who worked on it!

Barangay Election na...BUMOTO ka na ba?

Ilang beses ding napostpone ang eleksyong ito...finally we are now pushing for it and nangyayari na.
So I expect with that very LONG time given, handang-handa na silang lahat para hindi lang MAIHALAL kundi MAKAPALINGKOD sa BAYAN!

Celebrating Valentines at Mcdonalds!

We never knew that one of the best and fastest growing fast food chain in the Philippines..."Mcdonalds," is making a great effort to celebrate Valentines with kids and their families.

We registered for our daughter Althea to attend a 10:00 am program they named..."Ronald's Ooh-La-Love Party," themed for this month celebration of love all-over-the world!

Mary, host of Mcdonalds began by asking every kid's present in the event to look for a heart-shaped cut into two that was hidden underneath's every table, wall etc....

Althea found her perfect match with Inigo Burgos a kid whom we believed has the same age like her.

There are more game surprises came after. One that is very similar to a race where kids of two groups: boys and girls would try to make a quick turn on a small square chair (steps away from them) while they were obliged as part of the game to put a "happy meal," box on it. The first group who finish the route...wins.
Luckily, the girl group won the game...but the very tricky and humorous "Mary," (the host of the game), told everyone that it was just a rehearsal.
Fortunately, when it was repeated, the opposite team first won the race!

Since it was a Valentine celebration, two groups again were asked to put all together a heart-shaped puzzle. This was fun for the kids for they were not only thought to play the game but create a strategy while they were all under time and pressure.
But it seems that "BOYS," was really lucky...they ruled the game again!

But of course, the fun never stops with just kids only playing the game. Some parents and guardians were invited to play with their kids. Asked whether what talent they can do: SINGING or DANCING?
Some left participants were asked to spell out "MCDONALDS," name using their body.
Most were shy at first but loosen up on the latter part of the game.

Mcdonalds also gave each kids a symbolical heart-shaped pillow that they can offer along with a "Valentine Greeting Card," to their parents and guardians. A very special way to show how kids say...HAPPY HEART'S DAY to their loved ones.

But the happiest part was "Gremace," showing a special number to everyone.
Gremace dances like as if there was no bones that will break and that the floor was just dedicated for him.
Of course, the best part was the photo-opp session that was given enough time.

Thank you again Mcdonalds for continuously making every kids happy.
It has been a very helpful way on giving kids a happy memory that they will bring and always look back when they became adult like us.

See you again on our next adventure!

The event took place at Mcdonalds, Navotas City Branch.

NAVOTAS CITY HOSPITAL'S EXCELLENT TREATMENT AND CARE

With my Mom, June 4, 2016

An old cliche' says..."First Impressions last."
But this is also similar to a "golden rule." that has two sides positive and negative.
Thus,  I am sharing a positive outlook here.

I believe this is not the first time, I'm writing about our very own hospital in the city...
Navotas City Hospital.

Recently, I together with my youngest sister brought my
Mom there who needs urgent medical attention.

At the time, she was experiencing dizziness...had her blood pressure checked, it was 150 over 60.
She was given a certain medicine named Vertrol (16mg), after more than 30 minutes her BP became 160 over 70 and eventually her dizziness slowly fades away.

She was checked by the attending physician. But more than the asking part you would know and feel that there was so much care on every hospital's patient.

My mom is now turning 65, about a year ago, she was hospitalized with a mild stroke. She's still on her recuperating stage.

We were even told that there was a resident Endocrinologist, whom available during Tuesday and Thursday. And that was a very good news for us . Imagine, my Mom has to go to PGH, which was not easy for her. The travel plus the money she has to spend is something very bothering.

We were also enlightened about that fact that it would be best if we have other doctors, so that when there's emergency cases like that of we experienced recently, giving immediate medical attention would be easy.

If the hospital of Navotas only knew how much it means to us...a BIG HELP.

Special thanks to Christie Sanchez M.D. who personally attended on my Mom's case.

With Christie Sanchez M.D.

And it was always, a PLUS to any of your patients your kindness and being naturally polite.

We're even out of the hospital, without paying anything. And that was so much of a blessing to us.
At least, my Mom can utilize her money and will be spending it to prioritize buying medicines to speed up her continuous recovery and healing.

When we were about to go out, one of the hospital staff, even helped us to look for a tricycle.

Thank you all so much!
