A blighted Ovum

I always make it appoint that we will have a beautiful weekend...and that day I planned for a UP Diliman visit.
This was despite of lack of sleep I got from a previous office party, which for me was a very memorable affair as well.
We came in a few hours before lunch. But that day we were all given a perfect weather.
So, we explored UP.
I never run but I discovered a new and exciting ways of burning calories...I exercised using my daughter's ball. And it gave me a very satisfying work out by simply kicking it.
My wife and my daughter on the other hand was busy eating chips along with drinks they want and some interesting food from an ambulent vendors.
And we gave a special time for ourselves and sat on a field and talked.
Everything was normal that day, even after we visited Trinoma of course to eat, and most of all buy some stuff we'll be needing for the house.
We even had our coffee break at the nearest Starbucks located also inside the mall.
When suddenly after we went out of the coffee shop, my wife Mary Anne have complained about a blood that stained a lower part of her dress.
But my wife began to worry too much when she felt that it was not just an ordinary period. We figured it out that it was very serious when she went to our bathroom...the coming of the blood was very similar to her when urinating.
We brought her right away to the nearest lying in emergency clinic in Navotas but was adviced by some nurses there to bring her to the nearest hospital to attend more of her needs...we suggested UST.
It was my first time, riding in an ambulance and was hearing a loud "wang-wang, " sound while travelling.
In as fast as 15minutes, we arrived there.
And It was my first time to experienced filling out a hospital form extremely hard.
In such a way that I wrote my name instead of writing my wife's name on it. I was also having a hard time remembering my wife's deceased mother and her dad as well...simply because I was rattled at the time.
I was for one not at myself because I've found out that the health card I was hoping to help me was not at all covering for any medical expenses brought about by any maternal related cases.
Secondly, with that bold scenario, I am now bothered about shouldering all the financial expenses.
I couldn't think and can't make a final decision until I was able to spoke with my wife's OB via phone and suggested to bring her instead in a "clinical division," for a more affordable billing.
But with that scenario, it requires money for a downpayment and a few more for some medicines and laboratory expenses as well.
I began calling for people I might ask for help.
I called up and texted for my wife's uncle, my wife's deceased father's lived-in partner, even my bestfriend.
God at the time was so good, I got a help from my bestfriend Iaree Anico, she even made a quick hospital visit along with a close friend. And have offered me money for help.
My wife's uncle even came-in, plus the fact that my Mom at the time was beside me.
With that overwhelming support I was getting at the time, I became more stronger.
A little while, after some observation attended by some present physician at the hospital, a raspa operation procedure got conducted on my wife.
It was indeed very very successful.
I was at the time patiently waiting outside the hospital's delivery room.
Thanks to God!
The following day, we were out of the hospital for her continuous recovery and healing.

A very sad story

One of the most exciting part of a married life is having a baby.
In our case, it was not our first time.
For those people who are not aware of us...we now have a 5-year old daughter named Althea.
To make the long story short, after those mentioned years when my wife recently showed signs similar to that of a pregnant women, right away she has undergone a pregnancy test.
And to my surprise...it was positive!
It was the 10th of December when we found out that were both having a baby again.
And since she was pregnant, her cravings for a food to eat became very specific.
If my memory still serves me well, my wife requested for a puto-sulot, a barbecue from Goldilocks, Siopao from Kowloon,
and Chopsuey to name a few.
But a week before that when we had our Christmas furlough at Tagaytay, I remember she wanted to eat "Bulalo."
She sleeps a lot, she has a very good appetite and most of all she became so sensitive.
I was so happy that I grabbed a photo of her "PT," and uploaded it via IG, Tumbler, and even on Facebook.
Of course, who wouldn't be so happy and so proud of it...becoming a dad again is such a very wonderful feeling!
And the responses of friends from my FB account was very overwhelming for it reaches a hundred plus likes and a very warm congratulations.
But recently, when we had our OB checked-up after a transvaginal procedure...the result showed a three sac, the two smaller sac were 5 weeks less and the remaining one bigger than the two were aged more than 5 weeks.
In short, were expecting not just one, two, but three babies.
I was so surprised when was told about it. Actually mixed emotions as to how my wife and I would raise the triplets.
But since my wife was irregular the conflict of her pregnancy arises.
For one, the sac where the babies supposed to develop were still undeveloped.
And what confronts us both was she's considered "blighted."
With this, if the baby or babies didn't push-thru she has to undergo a "Raspa, " procedure.
But we were still hopeful that my wife would never go through this process...because that only means operation and an expenses in a very higher cost.
But her OB told us that the body had its own very natural way to let go undeveloped sac.
The night after our visit...she had spotting. At first, it was only similar to a regular menstruation but as days goes by...her spotting have changed into a blood cloth.
We have lost the baby or babies...but following some descriptions her OB told us, we are both relieved now that my wife doesn't have to go through a "raspa," procedure.

The Diary of a Father

My daughter frequently asked Me everytime she saw me in the morning ready for work..."Papa aalis ka na naman? Iiwan mo na naman kami?"
Sometimes I am running out of a better words to explain why. But I always end up saying her that it was for her future.
At times, I know she understand, but I know sometimes because she's just a little girl...understanding every reason I gave whether valid or not may be very complicated for her.
I miss being a Dad for her and also being a husband to my wife.
Imagine I am only giving them literally two days for family day.
But everytime I was given a chance, I know they can both feel that my very desire to be with them and to make the most out of it...is mainly my priority.
I know I am not the only one who feel this, I think I am more lucky because still I have the chance to see them daily.
Time could be so selfish sometimes, because I think that when I am with them...time runs so fast.
But I know soon my daughter will understand that in life you'll have to do some sacrifices.
But I'd like to thank our Creator for giving me such a wonderful family...with my wife Mary Anne, and our only daughter...Althea.
I am now beginning to think that...I may not possess everything the richness, the power, but because I have them, I'm the luckiest and rich being in the world!

Words of Wisdom

"When you are happy and contented with your life there's someone out there who would want to steal that happiness in you.
But they will all end up struggling and unsuccessful because no matter how they try they won't win.
Because the real logic here is that they couldn't steal that happiness in you because it glows from within."

Honesty is the best policy!

Today, we would normally hear a friend or someone we know after telling something a reaction like that of a doubt if he or she could keep it. Because we usually think that promises are words said that are meant to be broken.
Why do you think such situation do exist today?
Mainly because the word "Honesty, " has a very deep responsibility attach to it...and that is to keep them.
Sometimes we even come up with different alibis why such action was never practiced.
Many of us do not know that we are committing a violation of being true to other people and even within one's selves.
This was one issue that ABS-CBN bravely face by prompting a teleserye entitled..."HONESTO!"
I have seen the teaser of it, and it was indeed very interesting.
The story will begin with a little boy named "honesto," whom according to them never tell a lie, because in their family if one does their nose simply got irritated and becomes red.
It was funny at first, because mainly most people whom are aware of the tale of "Pinnochio," would think that it was pegged to that.
Here the boy "Honesto," if found something simply returns it...and would never even hear him saying any single lie.
There was just one episode that was teased on the television where-in the scenario was set in the classroom and when Honesto, made mention that he doesn't have a father...all his classmates laughed at him.
The episode tackles the most important and basic foundation of our society and that is having a family that you can call your own.
I began thinking when I have seen the full episode...here all Honesto's classmates were laughing because for him his grandfather and their dog should also be a part of their family.
But the teaser has told us differently.
I'm just concern about how you put your teaser together, as much as possible stick on the gist of the story to avoid confusion and thus misleads viewers.
Because if it's misleading, then it should not anymore be called..."Honesto."

I need a second opinion

When we are quiet sure about a particular medical test, it is common for most people whom are diagnosed with a certain illness or disorders to seek for a second opinion.
Today, I experienced this particular scenario where-in I personally think that I badly need a second test from a medical expert.
I must have been in denial about not having a 20/20 vision, for I couldn't believe that at my age...I am experiencing a "refractive errors."
A refractive errors is a common vision problems that includes nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia.
But I will be closely tackling about a refractive errors that falls under "nearsightedness."
Nearsightedness mainly states that the person has a clear vision of an object closer to him/her, while when it was far, the vision became blurry or unclear.
This was the exact scenario I've encountered when the company I am currently rendering my service did a periodical medical assessment.
Most of my co-workers, usually tease me when they've notice that I am having a hard time checking if all words in the graphics are all spelled correctly.
I was just laughing at them and always divert my attention by cracking a joke about it.
Not until an eye-specialist hired by the company for a check-up, personally checked it.
I started to get a straight answer when I was asked to read a "Snellen Chart."

The traditional Snellen chart is printed with eleven lines of block letters. The first line consists of one very large letter, which may be one of several letters, for example E, H, or N. Subsequent rows have increasing numbers of letters that decrease in size. A person taking the test covers one eye, and reads aloud the letters of each row, beginning at the top. The smallest row that can be read accurately indicates the visual acuity in that eye.
I was shocked to find out that when I was asked to read the block letter located on the eight rows...I barely couldn't see it.
The guy who's conducting the eye examination uses another grade of an eyeglasses...and from there I was able to read and see it clearly.
As far as I can remember I was told that I have a 75/50 vision. I'm not sure if I am writing it right. But the 75 explains the condition of my right eye, and another 50 was for the left.
I was completely shocked and I have to admit that I worry about this.
But I know that worrying will not help me.
So, what I am thinking now is to seek a second opinion.
And from there, I will surely have a clear understanding of what I am going through right now.
